Solar-Piezo Mobile Charger
As we are running short of non-renewable energy resource, we need to increase our focus on renewable energy resources. As a part for contribution to solve above mentioned problem, you are going to build an innovative hybridised mobile charger which will get the power form solar and piezo electric transducers.

The solar panel and piezo plate will be connected to the battery through charge controller. The charge controller will control the power obtained from both sources and will give constant power to the battery. The DC power generated will be stored in the battery. You will connect your mobile with the battery through transformer and inverter circuit in order to get the AC power.

Project Description:

  1. Solar Panel: The devices which converts the solar energy into electric energy is called Solar Panel.
  2. Piezo Electric Transducer: A piezoelectric Transducer is a device that uses the piezoelectric effect, to measure changes in pressure, acceleration, temperature, strain, or force by converting them to an electrical charge.
  3. Battery: Battery is a device used to store the DC power.
  4. Transformer: A transformer is a static electrical device that transfers electrical energy between two or more circuits through electromagnetic induction. A varying current in one coil of the transformer produces a varying magnetic field, which in turn induces a varying electromotive force (emf) or "voltage" in a second coil.
  5. Inverter Circuit: The inverter circuit is a circuit used to convert AC power to DC power and vice versa.
  6. Charge Controller: The charge controller will give constant output to the battery when charge controller is connected to multiple power sources.
  7. Normal Plug: The plug is generally an electrical connector or holder which holds devices and provide electrical connections.

Project Implementation:

  1. Interface the solar panel and plate with piezoelectric transducer with charge controller
  2. Now connect charge controller to the battery
  3. The battery will start charging as soon as the power sources start producing power
  4. Once the battery is completely charged, connect your mobile through transformer, inverter circuit and normal plug to the battery
  5. You can see your mobile had started to charge

Software requirements:

  1. Arduino IDE : You will be needing Arduino IDE software to write and upload the programming logic onto the Arduino Uno board
  2. Thingspeak : Also, you need to create an account in the ThinkSpeak IoT platform to integrate the system onto the cloud and store the data online
