We call this as ornithopter, means a mechanical flying machine which can mimic a bird up to 80% and Engineers are trying their best to make this bird most efficient. Basically, these are categorized by flapping wings flying machine which generate lift through the atmospheric air. This machine differs from a temporary power plant or limited ( temporary) power sources. The best application they can be used for Spying, surveillance, surface analysis.

Project Description:

You have to go through the Basics of Aerodynamics and flapping-wing flight, Concepts behind designing a Radio Controlled Ornithopter and Understanding the power sources involved in the design of flapping-wing flight and somewhat history of Ornithopter. Stability & Control of an RC Ornithopter. After completing all the theory sessions you are ready to Design own RC Ornithopter from scratch, RC Ornithopter Fabrication sessions, Testing Session.

Practical sessions kits:

  1. A servo controller for the flapping of wings
  2. Fabrication materials- Balsa, polyform, butter paper, plastic
  3. A microcontroller as a brain
  4. Lithium battery
  5. Micro size RC receiver
  6. Battery charger

Final step:

Wow, Congrats your mini project of robotic bird( Ornithopter) which you have made is ready for flying by just having some flying skills and good atmospheric condition.
