You can change the cherry tomato with other materials like a coin, silver spoon, conductive ink, wet foods, or even your grandma. No? Ok, maybe you can try with your cat and dog, anything that can conduct at least a little electricity. Imagine that you are performing songs to your friends with a bunch of tomatoes, what would be the looks in their faces!

Project Description:

  1. Respeaker: RESPEAKER is an open source modular voice interface to hack things around us rather than a voice assistant that fulfill simple tasks. Respeaker prob=vies you a hand freeway in your daily life. The ReSpeaker Core 7688 has 1 microphones, stereo audio output, on-board class-d audio amplifier, on-board ATmega32U4, 12 RGB LEDs and 8 touch sensors.
  2. Wifi speaker: multimedia speakers, are speakers sold for use with computers, although usually capable of other audio uses, e.g. for an MP3 player. Most such speakers have an internal amplifier and consequently require a power source, which may be by a mains power supply often via an AC adapter, batteries, or a USB port (able to supply no more than 2.5W DC, 500mA at 5V). 8 small tomatos= Tomato is consumed in diverse ways, including raw, as an ingredient in many dishes, sauces, salads, and drinks. While tomatoes are botanically berry-type fruits, they are considered culinary vegetables as an ingredient or side dish for savory meals.
  3. Rechargeable battery: A rechargeable battery, storage battery, secondary cell, or accumulator is a type of electrical battery which can be charged, discharged into a load, and recharged many times, as opposed to a disposable or primary battery, which is supplied fully charged and discarded after use. It is composed of one or more electrochemical cells
  4. Connect to internet: = Connect your smartphone/laptop to a Wi-Fi named LinkIt_Smart _xxxxxx and visit 192.168.100.1. After setting a password of Respeaker and logining in, you need to select station mode, select a Wi-Fi network and enter the password as the following picture.
  5. Android Phone: = Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open source software and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. In addition, Google has further developed Android TV for televisions, Android Auto for cars, and Wear OS for wrist watches, each with a specialized user interface. Variants of Android are also used on game consoles, digital cameras, PCs and other electronics.

Project Implementation:

  1. Simply connect the respeaker with the help of mobile to the web-based app through your username and password on the internet
  2. You can convert an ordinary speaker into an hands free audio controlled wifi speaker with a single audio cable and you will able to stream music of surf from the cloud or answer your question.
  3. It’s for learning, it’s for practice, and it’s for fun.ReSpeaker with Arduino IDE, and came out of a really special DIY piano that is built on 8 cherry tomatoes connecting to the 8 touch sensors on ReSpeaker, we call it, the Tomato Piano. Each cherry tomato represents a key to the music note, starting from the ‘do’ to the ‘ti’, so we have enough keys to perform songs we like. Check the video below to see how we played ‘Jingle Bells’ with the Tomato Piano.
  4. Connect the LED with a rechargeable battery in case of some worst condition.
