RC ORNITHOPTER
An ornithopter is a flying machine technology that is adapted from the flying motion of real bird. Its working principle similarly to birds where it can flap the wings to fly. If the ornithopter is flying along with real birds no one can able to identify which one is real and which one is Robot. Because of that, these flying machines are used for tracking purposes as a spy bird.

No propellers is required for the flying. Rotational motion converted in to the reciprocating motion to achieve that flapping motion.

Project Description:

  1. FRAME: Acrylic sheet or carbon fiber material
  2. GEARS: To transmit the power
  3. MOTOR: BLDC motor can be used as a power plant
  4. ESC: Electronic Speed Controller used for controlling the speed of the BLDC motor
  5. BATTERY: Lipo battery can be used as Power source
  6. FEATHER: Fibre material.
  7. FEATHER AND TAIL: Spokes is used for making of those
  8. SERVO: Two 9g servo
  9. TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER: 2.4GHZ TX and RX. It should have a minimum 5 channels

Project Implementation:

  1. Assemble all the materials given in the project description properly
  2. Take enough Fibre material place over on the wing. Cut out the material that you want to be fixed on the wing.
  3. Stick the fiber material using super glue
  4. Place the battery to the frame and balance the CG
  5. Make sure all the servo motor and bldc motor are fixed tightly
  6. Connect the battery to the ESC and check the all the controls surfaces by flipping the transmitter stick
  7. Now you can go for flying
