Most of the people or farmers don't own any dedicated monitoring system for their pets or live stocks. Because of that the animals will get into danger or lost. Stolen and missing pet can harm people financially and emotionally. To induce rid from this problem, an application called Pet Tracker is developed. The Pet Tracker works with a GPS collar. These GPS collars are fixed to the animal’s neck. The function of the GPS collar is to update the place of the animal via GPS. GPS is one amongst the good technologies that are employed in a large number of applications today. This application keeps regular monitoring on them and may inform you of the placement and route travelled by animal, which information is observed from anywhere on your android devices.

Project Description

This system provides simultaneous tracking of thousands of animals with transmitters that are lighter, longer-lasting, more effective and cheaper than other automatic positioning tags. To locate the placement of their Pets, people must request the placement of their pets through the Android device. Once requested, request data from the device will prompt the GPS collar to produce its current location. Finally, the GPS will send its current location back to the Android device. This process will only take a few seconds counting on network speed and coverage. This application will provide a better alternative to trace animals whether it's missing or stolen.

Traditionally, people track their pets by searching at the previous track of their animals. This consumes lots of your time and therefore the track sometimes is misleading. Additionally, this app can help people to watch their animal from distance. The placement of the animal can provide sufficient data to understand the status of their loving pets.

Modules used in this project

This approach has certain terminology that revolves around the project. These terms are used for the higher process of the appliance. The four related modules are:

  • GPS Collar:
This device is placed at the animal’s neck. By placing the device at the animal neck, the device can avoid any potential interference that may come from the encircling like grass. This device can also avoid being broken. this is often because the animal neck doesn't move the maximum amount as another animal part.

  • Animal tracking:
The function of animal tracking isn't limited to locate the animal, it can also be used to monitor animal behaviour. For the researcher, the info from animal tracking can help them to grasp how the animal move within local areas etc. this type of knowledge can address the environmental challenges like biodiversity loss, invasive species, climate and land usage.

  • User Android Device:
  • The admin uses this app by their android system after login into the app with their login id and password.
  • The User will view latitude and therefore the longitude of the GPS location of their pets.
  • System will Trace the placement of the pets and maybe automatically sent to users screen after every start of the app.
  • Database system:
The data from the GPS collar are uploaded to the database and then the database will send the last data uploaded to the Android application. It's the elemental of knowledge processing. The info that may store within the database is updated anytime by SQL server.

Project Implementation

This application is incredibly useful for the user to manage the movement of each pet.

It includes the following steps:

  • Start the appliance.
  • Activate the facility of GPS collar
  • User requests the placement of GPS.
  • Data of the location traced.
  • Data from the GPS collar are uploaded to the database
  • The database will send the last data uploaded to the Android application.
  • User receives the placement on their screen.

  • It does not require Human Attention.
  • This Pet tracker is completely independent.
  • Economically beneficial.
Future Applications:

  • We can add more sensors to the current device to watch health parameter of the animals.
  • Further study on this device can be done to run multiple tests for power consumption evaluation.
