These days electricity has become a need for the survival of the human being on this earth. The major source of the electricity is conventional energy sources which is produced in thermal power stations by using Coal. And the reserves of the coal are been depleted day by day.

So, we must change from conventional to non-conventional energy generation methods. By this we are not only generating the electricity but also not polluting the environment.

Solar energy is converted to electricity by using solar panels. The generated electricity can be used for different applications. The cost of the generation of the electricity is also very low when compared thermal electricity.

There solar energy systems can be installed in two different systems. They are Grid-Tied system (if the solar energy system is installed in large scale without battery backup and relatively less cost than the off-grid system and cannot store the electricity as no battery is present) and Off-grid system (if the solar energy system is installed in stand lone system in this system it is expected to access the electricity all times. So, backup battery system is provided more cost compared to grid-tied but can be used independently without grid electricity, battery must be replaced for every 10 years as their design life is about 8-10 years). In this hybrid Solar energy system, we combine both grid-tied and off-grid to get the maximum efficiency.

Requirements:

Knowledge of Renewable Energy Resources.

Knowledge of Basic Electricals.

Project Implementation:

  1. Solar panels are placed to capture the maximum sunlight.
  2. These are connected to charge controller to control the charge and avoid overflow.
  3. A battery bank is installed and is charged from the chare controller.
  4. An inverter is connected o the battery bank to change the DC to AC.
  5. The outlet of the Inverter can be used in domestic uses or utility uses.
Advantages:

  • We can switch between power from the electricity board or from the battery bank automatically or even manually.
  • This method is less expensive than a complete off-grid installation. As also no need of generator for backup.
  • You can also choose the battery capacity depending on the electricity from electricity board.
  • Higher reliability and Less maintenance.
Conclusion:

This system is very beneficial to the rural and remote areas of our country, where there is a severe crisis of the supply of electricity. This will also bring down the carbon emissions up to a extent.
