Generating Enenrgy From Sound Waves
In today's world, we are facing scarcity of Electricity. Generally, in lots of places in INDIA and SOUTH AFRICA, some villages are not getting electricity. In that way, you might be thinking about the hydropower or wind or solar but there is something crazy about generating electricity through industrial machine sounds or sound produced by the crowd in stadium or vehicle traffic noise. Sounds cool right!

Project Description:

A sound wave is a pressure wave; regions of high (compressions) and low pressure (rarefactions) are established as the result of the vibrations of the sound source. These compressions and rarefactions result because of sound. If we think logically sound can be a music or noise. Is it possible to convert this frequency or pressure waves into electricity?

Project components:

  1. Diaphragm: For the basic input of sound waves we are using a Speaker with the diaphragm. The signal which we are getting is in the form of analog.
  2. Analog to digital converter: Converts the analog signal (waveform ) into Digital (0,1) waves.
  3. Rectifier and Battery: Rectifier is an electrical device which converts an alternating current into a direct one by allowing the current to flow through it in one direction only. The battery is something which can be charged or discharged according to our users.
  4. Load(LED): LED will blink when sufficient amount of voltage is given by the diaphragm or sound wave in the form of pressure.
  5. Voltage divider circuit: A voltage divider is a passive linear circuit that produces an output voltage that is a fraction of its input voltage. Voltage Division is the result of distributing the input voltage among the components of the divider.
