Generating power for the fast growing world is a big challenge and which makes us to think and consider the alternate possible ways to generate power. Electricity is one of the basic need of human beings to do the daily means of work, and generating electricity by converting the form of energy is one of the best way to do it.

As we know by the law of conservation of energy, energy can neither be created nor be destroyed but can be converted from one form to another, and that's what the vision of this project is about to.

Project Description:

In this project you’ll build a system that converts the mechanical energy in form of kinetic energy of the vehicle to a electrical energy with the help of a piezoelectric crystal.

Piezoelectric crystals are kind of crystal material which generate a electrical signal when they come under the influence of the external pressure either a contractive or elongated. The electrical signals can be sent and stored in the storing devices such as batteries and that stored electrical energy can be used when it is required example to lit up the street light on the roads during nights.

Piezoelectric Crystal: Piezoelectric crystals can generate the electrical signal when get applied external pressure due to the energy transferred from the inner molecules of tightly packed crystal so when the layer of molecules get pressed or pulled by the external force the energy released by those molecules to absorb the external pressure that released energy is in form of electrical signal and that can be stored to use later.
Battery: A battery is a storing device which stores the electric energy in form of chemical energy and supplies the electric energy with reverse of the same chemical process happening during storing.
Inverter: The electricity stored in the battery is in DC or Direct current which is constant in current profile but the supply we get in homes are of AC or Alternative current that is basically most of the appliances work on so a inverter will do the converting work of DC to AC for the usage.
Transformer Transformers are the devices which used to step up or increase the voltage of the supply or opposite if the voltage is more than the required, so basically a transformer can be of two types Step up or step down which increase or decrease the voltage respectively of the supply.

Project Implementation:

You’ll be building a mechanism inside a speed breaker so when a vehicle passes over it because of the weight of the vehicle the pressing mechanism will press the piezoelectric crystal placed inside the speed breaker. And because of the external force a electric signal will be generating and will be sent to the battery with the wire connections.

Battery will be storing the electrical signal sent by the crystal connected with the wire connection and a inverter will be connected with a battery that will convert the DC to AC current for the use.

Now, a transformer will be connected next to the inverter which increase the voltage in this case to lit the bulb during this project.
