Wireless black box is effectively a system that will demonstrate all conditions of a vehicle accident and will also record and view parameters every 3 seconds, such as date, duration, temperature, position, acceleration, alcohol limit, etc. During the time of the crash, an alert will be transmitted from the system designed inside the vehicle to the website/application and also to registered phone numbers such as emergency numbers of police stations, hospitals, relatives, owners, etc.

Project Implementation:

This project includes specific sensor modules, such as the temperature sensor (DTH11), which is used to determine temperature and humidity. During accident, the vibration sensor detects sensations experience through the vehicle. There are drug indicators on the steering wheel that will show whether the driver is drunk. During the crash, the gyroscopic detector is used to show tilt. Sensors measure all parameters and send data directly to the Arduino Uno. The ESP8266 module uploads all data to the server of the fire department. GSM module, SD card module, and GPS module are some of the gadgets used in this model that helps to achieve the outcome. Following are the components required to build the gadget:

GPS/GSM module: The module has two in one feature device with GSM and GPS module. It embraces the GSM/GPRS Quad-Band network and incorporates GPS satellite navigation technologies.

ESP8266 Wi-Fi module: It is a system-on-chip (SoC) that incorporates a 32-bit microcontroller, antenna switches, power amplifier, and filters. It is compatible of 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) with general-purpose input/output (16 GPIO pins). It also includes Inter-Integrated Circuit, analog-to-digital conversion (10-bit ADC), DMA (GPIO), UART (GPIO2), and pulse-width modulation (PWM). This tiny module enables microcontrollers to link to a Wi-Fi channel and create basic TCP/IP connections.

Temperature Humidity Sensor [DHT11]: It utilizes a capacitive moisture sensor and a thermostat to evaluate the ambient air and pass an electrical signal to the data pins. It incorporates a capacitive moisture sensor and a thermostat to calibrate the ambient air and pass a digital signal to the data pin.

Arduino Uno: It is an open-source microcontroller board created by Arduino.cc and focused primarily on the ATmega328P microcontroller Computer chip. The board is configured with a collection of analog and digital input/output (I/O) pins that can be accessed with different boards for development and other circuits.

LCD Display: It is a kind of flat panel screen in its primary operational phase using liquid crystals.

Adapter: It reduced supply voltage from 120V to 12V which is suitable for an antenna or other small electronic machines. The incoming electric rapid rise might practically destroy the device's internal parts, therefore an adapter is used to control voltage surge.

Other small components to build the device are:

  • LEDs
  • Diodes
  • Buzzer
  • DC motor
  • Push Buttons
  • Resistors
  • Capacitors
  • Transistors
  • SD card module
  • Gyroscope
  • Alcohol Sensor
  • Vibration Sensor
  • Temperature Sensor
  • Cables and Connectors
  • PCB and Breadboards
  • Software: Arduino IDE
  • MC Programming Language: C
Attach all components of the circuitry, do the zero settings. Hence we acquire a fully wireless accident detection black box for vehicles.
