Arduino based smart water garbage accumulator using solar power

Water is crucial to life and water contamination is amongst the most severe challenges to the world people face today. Our lakes and rivers are becoming more and more polluted. It is very hard and expensive to mitigate the impact of water pollution, which will take years to eliminate all the toxic contaminants from the environment.

Enormous manpower and resources will be needed for the same reason. The revolutionary method of this project is implementing a new and efficient means of combating water contamination via removing manual labour, thus growing productivity and reducing the expense and time required.

Project Implementation:

The main objective of this floating waste collection initiative is to clean up the garbage that is deposited on the surface of water bodies, thereby maintaining the water safe and therefore reducing emissions. This wireless-operated design is operated via an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module with a remote that is used as a joystick, the project uses a DC pump to regulate the position and servo motor system for the turning. Here, in this model two Solar panels are also installed which will recharge the battery to render the boat self-sustainable. Wire gauge net is used to filter water and remove collected waste. Following are the components required to build the gadget:

Solar Panels: It is used to transform the light energy of the sun, which consists of energy particles known as "photons", into electricity for charging batteries. This is also called a solar photovoltaic cell.

Servo motor: It is a linear or rotary actuator that enables correct regulation of circular or horizontal direction, velocity and acceleration.

SLLATEST
ESP8266 Wi-Fi module: It is a system-on-chip (SoC) that incorporates a 32-bit microcontroller, antenna switches, power amplifier, and filters. It is compatible of 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) with general-purpose input/output (16 GPIO pins). It also includes Inter-Integrated Circuit, analog-to-digital conversion (10-bit ADC), DMA (GPIO), UART (GPIO2), and pulse-width modulation (PWM). This tiny module enables microcontrollers to link to a Wi-Fi channel and create basic TCP/IP connections.

Arduino Uno: It is an open-source microcontroller board created by Arduino.cc and focused primarily on the ATmega328P microcontroller Computer chip. The board is configured with a collection of analog and digital input/output (I/O) pins that can be accessed with different boards for development and other circuits.

LCD Display: It is a kind of flat panel screen in its primary operational phase using liquid crystals.

Adapter: It reduces the supply voltage from 120V to 12V which is suitable for an antenna or other small electronic machines. The rapid rise in the incoming electricity might practically destroy the device's internal parts, therefore an adapter is used to control voltage surge.

Other small components to build the device are:

  • LEDs
  • Diodes
  • DC pump
  • Servo motor
  • Push Buttons
  • Wire gauge net
  • Resistors
  • Capacitors
  • Transistors
  • Cables and Connectors
  • PCB and Breadboards
  • Software: Arduino IDE
  • MC Programming Language: C
Install all electronic components, do the zero settings. Thus this project accomplishes a completely automated Arduino based smart Water Garbage accumulator system.
